Job Title: Watersports Instructor

Job Role Summary Loch Morlich Watersports are looking to recruit Watersports Instructors for the Summer 2023 season. Loch Morlich Watersports (LMW) is a family-run business, located in the heart of the beautiful Cairngorms National Park.

The centre enjoys one of the finest settings of any loch in the country. It is surrounded by forests and fringed by beaches, with the stunning backdrop of the often snow-clad peaks of the northern Cairngorms.

As a Watersports Instructor you will be responsible to the Centre Manager. Your main roles will include: - Delivering high quality, safe and consistent teaching sessions in a range of Watersports activities including canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, stand up paddle boarding and sailing. - Assisting the Chief Instructor and Centre Manager with the safe and informative delivery of activities at LMW. - Organising the hire and upkeep of watersports equipment. - Supervision of watersports activity on Loch Morlich.

Ensuring all customers have an enjoyable experience at LMW - Being an active role model for Loch Morlich Watersports. Working Hours and Centre Information Loch Morlich Watersports is open from April to October. A working day at the Watersports starts at 9am and ends around 5:30pm, inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break. There is a cafe onsite. Equipment hire starts at 10am and the last hire is at 4pm, with the aim to have all crafts off the water by 5pm.

Equipment hire is run from the boathouse at Loch Morlich main beach. At LMW we pride ourselves in customer safety. Regular patrols are undertaken to ensure customer safety and satisfaction. In addition to daily watersports lessons, LMW cater to group residential experiences which can require an occasional change to working hours and travel to other locations within the region.

Desirable qualifications include
- Paddle sport Instructor or higher
- MBL Level 2
- Mountain Leader
- Dingy Sailing Instructor
- Windsurfing Instructor
- Power Boat Instructor

Additional outdoor qualifications are desirable but not essential.

We have regular staff training sessions to help you develop your personal skills in all activities offered at the centre. Key Responsibilities and Tasks - Ensuring safety cover of the highest standard from the beach and safety boats. - Ensuring the highest standard of health and safety is adhered to and advise guests on the practical/safe use of all equipment. - Assisting in the preparation, organisation and delivery of activities for all customers both on and off the water. This involves setting up, helping customers and the tidying of equipment. - Taking personal responsibility for the maintenance, repair and security of all LMW equipment. - Ensuring that the appearance of the Boathouse always meets customer expectations. - Assisting with the setting up of LMW at the start of the season and the packing down at the end of the season. - Ensuring all customers have a positive and enjoyable experience at LMW.
