**Job overview**:
This is a full time NHS Consultant Neuroradiologist post with responsibility for Neurointervention. The post holder will work flexibly with three other Interventional Neuroradiology (INR) colleagues to provide high quality care.

We are looking for a colleague specialising in Neurointervention to join an established team of 14 Neuroradiologists at NUH (including four INRs). There is plan to further expand the Neurointerventional team in the near future with a view to developing a 24/7 mechanical thrombectomy (MT) service for hyperacute stroke. The NUH Neuroradiology team undertakes a whole range of diagnostic interventional procedures pertaining to Neurosciences, Spinal and Head & Neck specialties. There is an active academic department headed by two Professors of the Department of Radiological Sciences.

**Main duties of the job**:
The post holder will work as part of the INR team at NUH and take part in all aspects of Neuroimaging services as appropriate, including taking an active part in Multidisciplinary team meetings. The post holder will work flexibly with INR colleagues to develop the service and to cooperatively restructure job plans as needed with appointment of additional colleagues to cover the hours of service as the MT service expands.

The post holder will have access to a home reporting workstation as required and will be able to provide at least 1PA of DCC activity from home. In addition they will be able to participate in insourcing (remote imaging reporting) for additional payment from home.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
A full range of Neurosciences and Head & Neck emergency and elective patients are admitted to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and the appointee will contribute to the management of those patients with the rest of the team.

The appointees will join the existing team of 14 Neuroradiologists and will support the growth in demand for Neuro and Head & Neck Imaging at NUH.

The persons appointed will be required to contribute to the provision of Diagnostic services at Queen’s Medical Centre, City Campus, KMH and possibly Nottingham Treatment Centre.

- Experience as a Radiology registrar in a large teaching hospital
- FRCR

**Desirable criteria**:

- MRCP, MRCS or other Professional or higher qualification

**Professional Registration**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Full Registration with GMC
- Eligible to be included on the specialist register
- CCT expected within 6 months of interview date

**Clinical Skills/Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Completed approved subspecialty neuroradiology training program
- Evidence of technical skills as described in the job description

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience in advanced imaging techniques

**Management Skills**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families and other health professionals.
- Able to develop, present and implement coherent ideas for service development/delivery
- Able to delegate appropriately
- Able to work within a team

**Desirable criteria**:

- Completed an appropriate management course
