Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world leader in cloud computing. We are looking for an experienced senior executive to lead the team responsible for the investment strategy and acquisition of our growing data center infrastructure portfolio in the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions. As a Senior Manager you will hire and develop a high performing team of skilled strategists and negotiators from backgrounds as diverse as real estate, finance, business, engineering and law. In this role you will have significant impact on the strategic direction of AWS and high visibility to senior management. Your are likely to be operating as a Senior Leader/Executive in Commercial, Corporate Development, Property Development, Strategy or M&A roles. Datacentre experience is not essential

You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial, fast paced environment. As the manager of the team, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs.

Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence and leadership are essential to success in this role. You will clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote teams.

Key job responsibilities
In this role you own the datacentre infrastructure supply strategy to support AWS growth in EMEA, driving strategy and acquisition initiatives across multiple geographies
You will lead a team of direct reports to execute on the strategy for datacentre growth in the region
Interpret business and market trends to support decision making related to strategic investment initiatives
Gather and own maintenance of various data required by the business to ensure high data integrity
Preparation and presentation of investment business cases for leader approval
Negotiation of high value data centre or real estate agreements with third party suppliers, including supporting contract transactions; obtaining internal financial, technical, and legal approvals.
Collaboration across stakeholders including, Construction Management, Design Engineering and Infra Ops, amongst others, to drive operational and design excellence across all supply options
Lead development and implementation of process improvements to increase process automation and scalability in order to support a rapidly growing business.
Identify any skills gaps and hire and develop to fill these gaps

The Amazon Web Services Data Centre Supply Solutions (DCSS) organisation is hiring a highly experienced Senior Executive leading the team responsible across multiple regions in EMEA for datacentre investment strategy and acquisition.
- Master’s Degree or advanced professional certifications
- Familiarity with data center industry/ large scale real estate
- Experience of leading teams across multiple locations in EMEA
- Experience working in an international projects environment
