We are looking for an **Senior Governance Officer** to join our Governance team.
This post will work alongside and support the Head of Governance & Assurance in the delivery of governance and company secretarial services across Onward. You will assist,develop and manage governance policies, processes and controls to ensure that all activitiesperformed comply with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.
This includes providing support to the Board and Senior Leadership Team as required in relation to governance processes. You will act as the first point of contact for non-executive directors, organising and facilitating board and committee meetings, includingminute taking and use of the board meeting software.
You will contribute to developing and managing the delivery of company secretarial services across Onward including management companies. This will include maintaining statutory records and registers for regulatory bodies such as the Regulator of SocialHousing, Companies House and FCA. In addition, oversee and manage the processes around the execution of documents, declarations of interest and the signing and sealing register.
You will contribute in the preparation and development of specialist projects in relations to Governance. This will include in-depth assessments (IDA), supporting the Governance Team / Board / Senior Leadership Team in relation to the assessment and associatedrequirements.
It essential you have a relevant Business related degree or professional qualification e.g. Law degree, Chartered Secretary or equivalent qualification/ experience. You should have proven experience of governance in a regulated environment with knowledgeof governance and constitutional matters and a willingness to research and learn new relevant matter.
You should have interpersonal skills to deal with senior managers and board members, being flexible and able to thrive in a changing environment to manage governance administration including minute taking experience at senior level. This requires youto demonstrategood communication skills, both verbal and written, organisation and prioritisation skills, and listening skills, with ability to analyse and interpret information to inform decision making.
