Senior Information Governance Officer

Supporting the University in a series of increasingly dynamic, demanding and competitive environments, the Information Governance Team is involved in a growing number of partnerships and projects across the city but also nationally and internationally. Our Legal & Governance professionals play an important role in helping shape the strategic direction of a great global university. The work is intellectually challenging and hugely rewarding.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Information Governance Officer within a team of dedicated data protection, Freedom of Information and records management professionals, in our Legal & Governance directorate.
As a Senior Information Governance Officer you will have a real opportunity to help shape and develop the University's information governance compliance programme.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Monitoring compliance against our information governance framework.
- Policy and procedure development.
- Provision of advice and consultancy to dedicated areas of the University.
- Conducting data protection assessments.
- Establishing information sharing and data processing agreements.
- Drafting privacy notice wording.
- Developing and delivering information governance training.
- Developing our information asset register and record of processing activity.
- Managing our response to complaints and incidents.
The role will support the University to achieve its strategic priorities and objectives in a manner which is appropriately compliant with information governance related legislation.
You will possess exceptional commination skills, both written and oral, and will be able to communicate complex matters simply and concisely to staff at different levels across the University.
