These are exciting times for the Charity and we have an excellent opportunity for a proactive and flexible individual with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to join the busy Finance Department. As Finance Officer (Treasury).
**Position**: 1410 Finance Assistant
**Location**: Based in Sidmouth, Devon - an area of outstanding natural beauty
**Salary**: £25,695 pro rata (part-time actual salary @22,025)
**The Role**:
As Finance Officer (Treasury), you will assist with the processing of purchase ledgers, purchasing cards, banking and monthly account reconciliations. You will also be responsible for ensuring strong relationships are maintained with budget managers and administrators, improving the impact, and understanding of, financial reporting on charity performance and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies.
**Your principal duties and responsibilities will include**:
- Maintaining The Hayloft Ltd Sales and Purchase Ledgers and Donkey World Ltd purchase ledger to ensure suppliers are paid on time, answering supplier queries and liaising with The Hayloft over any discrepancies;
- Exporting the monthly purchasing card expenditure from the on-line portal and import into the accounting system, in line with the monthly accounts timetable;
- Processing all overseas currency requests (inc. foreign cash and currency cards), including issuing to staff, agreeing foreign currency returned to expense claims, cash returned and ensuring any personal expenditure is recovered from the individual;
- Monthly reconciliation and matching of the key sales accounts and accounts for the organisation and its subsidiaries.
**About You**:
- A comprehensive working knowledge and experience in a cash/accounts payable role, and an understanding of accounting systems and financial control procedures;
- Basic book keeping skills and a working knowledge of cash management/billing;
- Extensive practical working experience in the use of accounting software (OpenAccounts desirable);
- Highly literate with an excellent attention to detail;
- Knowledge of VAT codes and types of suppliers;
- Previous experience of using electronic banking software;
- Competent IT skills (intermediate level in Excel and Word minimum).
