**An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Girls’ Schools Association (GSA) to take on the role of Events & Communications Officer**

**Main purpose**

**About GSA**

GSA is the professional association for Heads of top performing day and boarding schools specialising in the education of girls. We have a national and international membership, covering both state and independent schools.

**Areas of responsibility**
- Develop digital communications plans to bring to life GSA’s events, stories, partnerships, news and case study publications.
- Manage and grow GSA’s social media audience and online channels and build awareness of GSA by creating and managing content.
- Deliver weekly newsletters (term time Fridays) and ad hoc additional newsletters over the year to our members, sourcing new content, and building networks.
- Engage with and grow GSA’s community publishing posts, collecting news items, responding to enquiries and interacting with community members. Assist with planning and resourcing of GSA Student events and other GSA conferences and webinars.
- Commission venues and scope the programme in liaison with the Operations Director, Conference and Events Manager and Membership Manager.
- Administer the contractual, logístical and financial aspects of GSA Student conferences, events and webinars.
- Create marketing content for Student Conferences, Events and Webinars, ensuring target numbers are achieved.
- Support the Communications Team with social media content relating to Student events and GSA Professional Development.
- Ensure that the Events area on the GSA website includes appropriate and up-to-date information.
- Attend GSA events as required and act as the main contact for the venue and all participants. Some events are residential and overnight stays may be required.
- Ensure that all delegates at GSA Student events are invoiced by the Finance Officer.
- Process conference, event and webinar bookings and prepare accurate delegate joining information.
- Prepare event materials, including liaising with designers and printers, and make arrangements for AV where necessary.
- Prepare and analyse post-event online delegate feedback surveys.

**General**
- Attendance at regular online and in-person Team meetings.
- Support, liaise and contribute (as required) to any other relevant areas of work undertaken by GSA Team colleagues.

**Essential qualifications/skills**
- Ability to organise own work and work autonomously;
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Good interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills;
- Be able to demonstrate good use of spoken and written English including grammar, punctuation and spelling, and a good standard of numeracy;
- Proficient in MS office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

**Desirable qualifications/skills**
- A good working knowledge of CRM databases;
- A good working knowledge of Word Press;
- Experience of organising and minuting meetings.

**Employment details**
- Direct line manager: Conference & Events Manager
- Full-time - Fixed Contract to July 2025
- Salary: circa £22-25k
- Expected start date: September 2023
