**What will the apprentice be doing on site**

EN:Able Futures, an award-winning apprenticeship employer, are partnering with Acis Group, a housing and employability charity in Gainsborough who create opportunities for people to live better lives through providing better homes and better services. We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Asset Surveyor to work with Acis Group and become part of their team.

The role is designed to allow you to gain property investment and asset management skills to enable career progression within the housing sector.

**Relevant information about the project**

Housing Asset Management is an important role within social housing. It involves ensuring that a landlords homes are affordable, safe and attractive to tenants, plus they are financially viable. Managing assets is about investing in, maintaining and upgrading properties. To do this, it's fundamental to understand the needs and aspirations of tenants.

Your role is all about being part of the Investment Team within the Property Department, responsible for the delivery of a range of planned maintenance and improvement projects, including individual properties and large-scale programmes, ensuring high quality services to all customers.

As an apprentice within the workplace, you will learn how to undertake the following day to day tasks:

- Identify the suitability of health and safety documentation, including risk assessments and method statements, to assist in ensuring sufficient planning has been carried out for tasks to be completed safely.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the requirements of a project are met, ensuring records of the communications are kept in line with company processes
- Ensure accurate contractual records are kept in relation to the planning of construction projects
- Support the production of resource lists, based on estimates, using technical drawings to identify the requirements of the project
- Assist with the development of tenders relevant to the construction project, ensuring records of tenders are kept and processed within the required timescales
- Support the procurement of project materials, plant and sub-contractors
- Support the progress of construction projects, recommending and proposing revisions of programmes and assisting with the planning of schedules of work
- Support the implementation of appropriate contract quantities and cost monitoring systems to provide early warning of problems for all contract phases on-site
- Use surveying information to contribute to the measurement, evaluation and review of project performance.
- Assist with insurance and disrepair claim resolution
- Keep up to date with current legislation and best practice

This role is a development role. The job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged and the range of duties and responsibilities to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

The post holder will be required to perform any other reasonable task, as requested by the Line-Manager to meet the operational needs of the business.

- Be confident with technology and be keen to learn more
- Have thoroughness and attention to detail
- Demonstrate thinking and reasoning skills
- Exhibit good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Computer skills and an ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
- Effective customer care skills
- Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Qualification
- Ability to undertake any necessary travel in connection with the duties of this post
- Expectation to achieve a full driving license, if you don't already hold one
- Ability to work on own initiative as an individual, and in collaboration as a team member
- A willingness to attain a CSCS card (This will be fully funded)

**Qualifications Required**

4 GCSE's Grade 5-9 including Maths, English and Science

Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00 (with a 16:30 finish on a Friday)
£8 Per Hour

**Job Type**: Apprenticeship

**Salary**: £8.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
