The Manchester Mental Health and Homeless Team (MMHHT) provides a dedicated service for homeless individuals across the city of Manchester with a range of mental health needs who may find it difficult to engage or maintain contact with mainstream mental health services. It is one of several teams that comprise the GMMH Homeless ‘Hub’ - providing a range of mental health, dual diagnosis and addictions services across the Greater Manchester footprint to those who experience homelessness.

We are looking for a principal psychologist to help lead psychological services across GM Hub, and to provide clinical sessions to the MMHHT in Manchester. This will suit someone with a passion to develop psychologically informed environments;experience of complex trauma and co-occurring conditions; andinterest in training, supervision and consultation.

The postholder will provide leadership to the MMHHT regarding psychological aspects of the service model and service development. They will be responsible for the flexible and responsive development of trauma-informed service delivery to include: training, reflective practice and clinical supervision.

The postholder will provide highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapy to service users of the MMHHT. They will offer advice, consultation and liaison on psychological care planning to other parts of secondary care mental health services and the wider homeless sector.

The postholder will be an active member of the multidisciplinary Homeless Hub Senior Leadership Team; working with other members to support the development of high quality psychological and mental health provision across Greater Manchester.

The postholder will be responsible for recruitment and line management of other psychology posts working in Homeless services. They will work with psychology colleagues to establish appropriate psychological pathways for individuals who are homeless.
