The Maccas Project was born in memory of Thomas McCauley. The project is specifically aimed at raising awareness of young men's mental health. We support all young people across Staffordshire through workshops in schools, colleges and universities and we offer consultation and support, confidential informal drop in services and events.

**Salary**: Scale Point 22-25 £22,068 - £24,203 gross per annum (£8,946-£9,812 pro rata gross per annum)

**Based at**: Head Office (Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent) and community hubs/schools across Staffordshire

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

We are looking to recruit someone with passion and drive, who can demonstrate a good understanding of the challenges young people face in relation to their emotional well-being and mental health. They will be facilitating workshops in schools, colleges and a fortnightly drop-in service. The Tuesday drop ins are support groups for 11-13 year olds and 14-18 year olds, at different venue’s within Staffordshire. We facilitate psychoeducational and interactive workshops in a group setting, as well as provide 1:1 well-being sessions for clients.

The post holder will work as part of a team, alongside the Online Project Manager, to develop the project further.

**GENERAL SERVICE DELIVERY**
- To work closely with the Online Project Manager and colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the project
- To facilitate mental health and emotional wellbeing workshops
- To facilitate workshops for targeted groups of young people
- To support colleagues with the creation, facilitation and delivery of workshops
- To organise displays and attend events promoting the Maccas Project
- To facilitate consultation groups so that the ideas of young people can further develop the project.
- To deliver workshops both face to face and online for schools and colleges.
- To work with other agencies who work in the field of suicide and mental health to allow for greatest impact on the target communities.
- To demonstrate that you are working in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions at all times. This document can be found on bacp.co.uk in the ‘Events and Resources’ section.

Any other duties as defined by North Staffs Mind in order to maintain an efficient and client friendly service

**Essential**

**Please note, due to travel to different local venues, a full driving licence is essential for this role**

Experience of working with young people and/or genuine interest and passion for working with them.

A good understanding of young people and the challenges they face in relation to their emotional and mental health.

Ability to create and deliver workshops (including online delivery as well as face to face)

Confidence to engage with the public about North Staffs Mind services, promote mental health and emotional well-being, and challenge the stigma.
