**Job Purpose**: why the job exists

To work within the team of Hygiene Operatives, undertaking hygiene activities including dismantling, cleaning and sterilising of production plant and equipment and surrounding areas to achieve standards of excellence in line with food hygiene requirements to support delivery of audits and accreditations. The plant must then be rebuilt ready for the following production shift.

**Job Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities**:
To work safely and follow all work instructions to achieve high standards of cleanliness as part of a motivated team of Hygiene Operatives
To drive hygiene standards across the site
To demonstrate the Ornua Values in line with the site grading system
To understand and complete cleaning schedules in a timely manner
Contribute to overall Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) improvements whilst promoting Clean As You Go policy
Running CIP (clean in place) systems on machinery
To liaise with Shift Manager when investigating problems and contributing ideas towards a solution
Understand the principles of why we clean and the types of chemicals used
Be alert to changing situations, showing flexibility in approach and being adaptable in difficult circumstances
Be prepared to assist colleagues and flexible about carrying out other duties
