**The Home**
Ben Madigan Care Home is a registered nursing home which provides nursing care for up to 64 patients. The home is divided into three units over two floors. The Hillview Unit on the ground floor provides general nursing care for patients. The Bellview and Coastview Units on the ground floor provide care for patients with dementia.
**The Role**
At Healthcare Ireland, our Housekeeper role is essential in our mission to provide excellent care. Responsible for the environment of the Home, the Housekeeper lead the domestic and laundry teams in contributing to the wellbeing and quality of life of our residents. The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that the Home is clean, tidy and welcoming at all times.
The Housekeeper works closely with the Home Manager, care teams and residents, building trusting relationships to create a comfortable environment where our residents feel safe and cared for. From ensuring that rooms are clean to tidying communal areas, every task contributes to the value that we add to the lives of our residents.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Oversee and perform a variety of tasks throughout the Home, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, cleaning surfaces in resident rooms, communal areas and offices; adhering to cleaning and laundry schedules as required.
- Manage the domestic team to guarantee that all areas of the Home, including bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas and hallways, are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Empty and dispose of waste and recycling safely and in accordance with waste management procedures, ensuring compliance with environmental guidelines.
- Manage the cleaning supplies, toiletries and other essential items in resident rooms, bathrooms and communal areas as needed, monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages.
- Ensure that all personal laundry, bedding, towels and serviettes are returned after laundering, drying and ironing.
- Manage work processes ensuring compliance with quality and statutory regulations, as well as operational standards and infection prevention and control.
- Report all damage and faults identified to the Home Manager.
- Complete regular housekeeping audits as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy and dignity of residents at all times, adhering to professional standards in all aspects of work.
- Responsible for the storage of cleaning products, ensuring they meet COSHH regulations and all cleaning machinery and equipment are used properly and stored safely.
- Work within all health, safety, hygiene, fire and security guidelines, procedures and legislation, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.
**You will need**:
- Right to work in the UK.
- Previous experience gained within a Health and Social Care setting.
- An excellent standard of both verbal and written English.
- Knowledge of COSHH, Health and Safety, Fire and Security Regulations
- The ability to prioritise workload, organising and delegating tasks as necessary to meet a comprehensive cleaning schedule.
- Have a flexible approach to work.
