Studio Assistant

Max Buston Design is looking for a studio assistant at the start of their career who is eager to learn everything about the inner workings of a luxury interior design studio in London.
The studio includes an infusion of luxury têxtiles, specialises in curtain design and upholstery and has wide-reaching projects including townhouses, country homes and a chateau in France. The studio stands out for its use of colour and its eclecticism.
**Your role**
You will play a central part in this fast-paced studio that requires initiative and versatility. You will assist with all areas of the studio and showroom as well as coordinate the procurement of furnishings for a range of projects and retail customers.
**The key responsibilities are**:
- Setting up the studio and showroom each day
- Maintaining excellent presentation of the studio, display fabrics and samples library, showroom supplies, printing, kitchen etc.
- Assisting with InDesign presentations and Photoshop work where needs arise
- Assisting in the creation of quotations and sales orders
- Helping with the showroom's two resident cocker spaniels
- Unpacking and inspection of goods delivered to the showroom
- Assisting in the showroom with clients and retail customers
- To assist with Instagram posts
The role will report to the Director and secondly the Showroom Manager.
The role is aided by sophisticated project management and furniture management software.
**Skills required**:
- one-two years’ industry experience
- ability to work with others and independently with your own initiative
- excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
- proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Suite essential
- hand sketching very advantageous
- excellent presentation skills, organisation and time management
- salary is dependent on experience
