**The main focus of the role is to**:
Provide a wide range of support to our future workforce participants, including local induction, pastoral support and signposting where appropriate.

Work locally and as part of the wider Future Workforce Team to provide information about people development opportunities to our current workforce and help individuals and groups understand how to access these opportunities.

Provide employability support to our current workforce.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:
**Four main hospitals**: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;
**Seven community hospitals**: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;
48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

**The post holder will**:
Provide pastoral support to apprentices, volunteers, work experience and other future workforce participants.

Engage with schools, colleges and other external agencies to promote opportunities and careers within Hywel Dda.

Design and deliver employability skills sessions

Build and maintain relationships within hospital and surrounding areas, including community teams.

Facilitating future workforce pathways at every stage, including recruitment, local inductions and engagement events.

Provide informal support for staff working with apprentices, volunteers, and placements of all types.

Working with Future Workforce team to engage with and work with external partners such as schools, youth services, colleges, Careers Wales (etc), DWP to promote Future Workforce opportunities, apprenticeships, and careers within your area of the Hywel Dda Region.

Set up and facilitate virtual and in-person check-in sessions with Future Workforce participants.

Support and signpost both our existing and future workforce onto relevant external andinternal support services as required; to include E.g., Well-being Support Services, CarersSupport Services, staff networks etc.

Deliver talks and information sessions to support engagement and recruitment of Hywel Dda’s Future Workforce through internal and external events.

Support the development of staff across the Health Board through the development of various initiatives including employability skills, adopting a learning culture.

Promote opportunities, reducing barriers and increasing access to development opportunities.

Facilitate future workforce development activities to support the widening access agenda.
