DESCRIPTION DU POSTE

**Job Title**:Fusion Technical Specialist**

**Location: Oxford or any UK Assystem office**

**Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time**

**The Role**:
Due to ongoing impressive business growth, Assystem are seeking to recruit **Fusion Technical Specialists** to work within its Energy & Nuclear group reporting to the Fusion Technical Lead.

Previous experience in a technical role in the fusion industry is highly desirable, but transferable skills from related industries such as fission nuclear and other safety critical industries will be considered.

Assystem are looking to recruit technical specialists with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

- Design and substantiation of plasma facing components
- Design and testing of remote handling equipment
- Design and substantiation of hot cells, glove boxes and contamination control enclosures
- Design of equipment for cryogenic and vacuum conditions
- Design of equipment for very high radiation environments
- Process Engineering for cryogenic systems and/or gas systems
- Understanding of Tritium and design of equipment for a Tritiated environment
- Safety and reliability in a fusion environment (radiation, vacuum, dust, Tritium etc.).
- The role will include travel to customer and other Assystem sites.

**Project delivery**:

- Lead engineer responsible for management and delivery of engineering projects
- Be able to work with a high degree of independence, self-motivating
- Create deliverables and perform technical activities
- Technical interface with client, delivery partners and sub-contractors
- Support the Business Manager in Key Account Manager in fusion customer relationship development
- Leading and writing bids and proposals for responding to our customers’ needs
- Define project task breakdown, hours estimates and SQEP resource profiles as input to the project manager / project planner

PROFIL

**Your background**:
To succeed in this role you will need a track record in a sales & tendering environment within the Fusion sector backed up with a strong understanding of the Fusion sector, supply chain, wider energy industry and overall value chain for fusion or similar industries

This role will require you to draw on your proactive nature and ability to work on your own initiative

Ideally, you'll have Engineering experience and qualifications in related sector

**Security clearance**:
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken, applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
