This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of highly motivated Booking and Reception Clerks at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust based at Grantham. The department is looking to recruit receptionists and appointment booking clerks within our administrative service into substantive part time. There will also be an opportunity to undertake NVQ within this role The hours available are Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm which can be discussed at interview.

To follow agreed procedures and protocols such as the Elective Access Policy (EAP) and Standard Trust Administration Guidelines (STAGS). To ensure patients receive Outpatient appointments in line with the booking requirements of the Trust. To ensure patients receive all relevant information in a timely accurate and effective way. To ensure all data relating to patients is captured in a timely and accurate manner. To provide a customer focused booking service. To provide reception services, to relevant areas in a professional, understanding and courteous manner.

The Outpatient Appointment Service involves reception duties, dealing with patients face to face and by telephone, booking both new and follow up appointments ensuring national and local targets are adhered to at all times, liaising with GP’s and other health care professionals both internally and externally.

Applicants must have GCSE grade C in Maths and English (or equivalent experience), experience of working in a customer facing, busy office environment and meeting tight deadlines. A professional, positive understanding of others attitudes as well as providing outstanding care to our patients at all times is essential, as is the ability to prioritise, use your own initiative and work as part of a team. It is essential to be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, together with accuracy and attention to detail whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times. Good data entry/keyboard skills are also essential. Ability and willingness to work flexibly. CLAIT and knowledge of experience of NHS working is desirable but not essential.
