Thirsk, United Kingdom Severfield Group Full time

Do you want to work for the UK’s market leading structural steel company?

Severfield is the market leader in structural steel, recognised for its iconic structures and engineering excellence. Involved in the UK’s highest profile building projects, we have the design and engineering capabilities to deliver the UK’s largest, most complex projects.

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Paint Controller to join our Commercial and Industrial Division, based at our site in Dalton, Thirsk.

The purpose of this role is to oversee the efficient storage, movement, and distribution of paint products in alignment with our production requirements. This will involve managing stock control, taking deliveries, and maintaining accurate records to ensure seamless operations within our paint facilities.

The key responsibilities of this role will be to monitor and track all ordered loads from suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, and coordinating with logistics and suppliers to ensure smooth and punctual deliveries. You will be required to conduct thorough inspections of the deliveries to verify accuracy and quality and to supervise the offloading to ensure proper handling of the product.

You will need to conduct weekly stock takes and implement effective stock control procedures which maintains product freshness and minimises waste, keeping the inventory records up to date to identify any discrepancies, and to report on and coordinate returns with suppliers.

You will be required to work closely with the production teams and paint department to monitor and record actual paint consumption against target allowances and ensure the correct amount of paint is delivered for each shift to meet the production demands.

The working hours for this role are Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm and Friday 7am-1pm.

In return, Severfield offers a competitive salary and benefits package, the opportunity for you to feel valued and empowered at work, as well as knowing that you are employed by the UK’s market leader in structural steel.

We are an Equal Opportunities employer and actively encourage people from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and skill sets to join us. We are keen to hear from all applicants regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexuality, religion, or faith.

Since our inception, we’ve become internationally synonymous with quality, innovation, and unrivaled expertise within the steel industry. Today, with multiple sites in the UK and our India factory, we have an annual capacity to produce around 300,000 tonnes of fabricated steelwork.

You’ll find our legacy in infrastructure, transport, culture, the commercial sector, and more; you’ll be surprised to see just how many of the iconic landmarks and buildings you know and love are part of our portfolio - see our projects for some examples of work we’re really proud of.
