**Job Description**:
**Profile Operator**

**Full Time**

**Derby**

**Why Rolls-Royce?**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join us as a Profile Operator within our Profiling team within Submarines Core Production (CP) in Derby.

Core Production is responsible for the manufacture and delivery of nuclear core components and in this role, you will carry out production and inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process.

You must be able to work safely and as part of a team. The delivery of right first-time quality is a key objective within CP. You will support this objective by working within a team that is committed to continuous improvement and reducing non-conformance across products and processes. Where non-conformance to specification occurs, you will be required to manage the non-conformance in line with the Rolls-Royce quality management system.

The role requires 3 or 4 shifts working and you may also be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime when necessary.

Work with us and we’ll welcome you into an inclusive culture, one that invests in your continuous learning and development, and gives you access to a wide breadth and depth of experience.

We’ll provide an environment where you can be yourself. An inclusive, digital-first culture that invests in you, gives you a platform for continuous learning, and access to an incredible breadth and depth of opportunities to grow your career.

We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

**What you will be doing**:
In this role your duties will include:

- Working to Technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high-quality production and inspection across a variety of different components and product families.
- Maintaining a high level of process compliance and sustainment, including calibration of gauges and measurement equipment and asset care of equipment.
- Operating a variety of digital inspection equipment, and the manual processes for obtaining associated data.
- Delivering high quality manual finishing operations and operate a variety of equipment and processes for manufacturing.
- Interpreting manufacturing drawings and written specifications.
- Assessing components produced within the facility against quality standards.
- Working within a team to effectively resolve quality issues and ensure work is being completed to plan.
- Working within a team to effectively resolve any issues which arise.
- Working closely with internal and external customers to continuously improve business performance.

**Who we are looking for**:
At Rolls-Royce we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. These principles form our values and behaviours and are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.
- Experience of working on a Nuclear Licenced site.
- Time served engineering apprenticeship, or previous experience relevant to Inspection and manufacturing in an engineering environment.
- NPL Level 1.
- Experience in the visual inspection of defects.
- Experience of machine tools and hand dressing.
- Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
- The ability to make decisions giving suitable justifications for your conclusions.
- Awareness of HS&E requirements.

We believe that people from different backgrounds and cultures give us different perspectives. And the more perspectives we have, the more successful we’ll be.
