**Breakfast Club Supervisor**

We are looking to appoint a Breakfast Club Supervisor, based at our Junior School at Hunter’s Moor. The appointed person will work as part of a small team helping to ensure the safety, welfare and good conduct of pupils during the morning period, and assisting with the provision of high quality childcare.
- This is illustrative of the general nature and level of responsibility of the work to be undertaken, commensurate with the grade. It is not a comprehensive list of all tasks that the post holder will carry out._

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and assist the Junior School children during breakfast club.
- Greet pupils and parents as they arrive at the setting.
- Ensure that the setting is left in good order at the end of each session.
- Deliver a weekly timetable of events and activities.
- Monitor the quality of games etc, ensuring all pupils have a balanced activity programme.
- Ensure pupils act suitably and do not cause unreasonable noise, disruption or unacceptable behaviour.
- Deal with minor incidents of poor behaviour; reporting more serious incidents or repeated patterns of minor incidents to the pupil’s Form Teacher or the Head of Juniors.

**Health and Safety**:

- To comply with Health, Safety, and Hygiene Regulations as laid down within the Schools’ policies.
- Provide emergency first aid (training will be given as necessary) as and when required, using the First Aid bag provided and contacting the School’s nurse for assistance as required.

**General**:

- Maintain strict confidentiality of all information belonging to the Schools. It is important, and a condition of employment, that all information of any kind is treated as confidential and not disclosed or used other than as authorised and in the proper performance of the Schools business.
- Take responsibility for their professional development, continually keep updated and contribute to the Schools as a learning organisation.
- Comply with the policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- Be aware of and support differences and ensure equal opportunities for all.
- Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the Schools.
- To undertake any other duties and responsibilities, which do not change the character and purpose of the post as directed by the Principal / Bursar.

**Person Specification**

The successful applicant should possess the following experience, qualifications and qualities:

- Experience in caring for, or working with, children;
- Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills with good written communication skills;
- A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training;
- Commitment to the highest standards of child protection and safeguarding;
- Recognition of the importance of personal responsibility for health and safety;
- Understanding of health and safety and food hygiene issues.

- Ability to communicate effectively with children, colleagues and parents/carers;
- Positive and can-do attitude;

Monday to Friday, 6 hours per week, 07:40 to 08:50, term time only.

**Salary**:
Full time equivalent: £21,000.00
