To support the business operations by ensuring the correct raw materials are available to satisfy customer requirements whilst maintaining stock within agreed levels.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create/release orders to suppliers, including subcontracting orders; based on business requirements.
- Ensure ERP messages are actioned in a timely manner.
- Review and report materials against production plans; to identify any potential outages /risk in material supply and liaise with the supplier to resolves these issues.
- Root cause any raw material outages that impact the production plan or cause late delivery to customer.
- Create material forecasts to aid understanding about upcoming changes/trends, and the impact on inventory.
- Review inventory levels, propose safety stocks/re-order points to ensure materials are held at optimal levels; take action to prevent overstocking or obsolete stock.
- Maintain data integrity within the Item Master data to ensure Suppliers, leadtimes, MOQ, is accurately maintained.
- Attend applicable business/operations meetings as a representative of the purchasing department.
- Work closely with the Production Planning and Customer Service to ensure effective communication of changes in supply.
- Assist with supplier performance analysis.

**Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge**

Production or Materials planning experience

**Qualifications**

GCSE Maths & English

**Skills & Knowledge**
- Excellent communicator who is competent at developing relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Essential experience of working with purchasing modules in ERP/MRP system.
- Proficient IT skills with strong knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel and Word
- Able to work in a fast pace environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail
