**Purpose of the Position**
To support the Mortgage Department by completing mortgage administration with a high level of accuracy, adhering to quality assurance and operational processes.
This role, initially focused on being competent in all aspects of mortgage administration will provide the potential to progress into a trainee underwriter position. There, you will make decisions and recommendations to one of our Underwriters based on individual case profiles and risk. You will deliver sound customer outcomes with a fully documented rationale.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
**Mortgage Administration**
- Verify documents to support the underwriting of a case and requesting outstanding information, ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Monitor the level of mortgage redemptions, producing and issuing statements when requests are made
- Liaise with customers, and brokers - providing updates when required and chasing any outstanding documentation or information
- Monitor the Society’s Interest Only profile, making contact with members in-line with required timeframes
- To complete product transfer administration for existing Mortgages. This includes issuing relevant documentation, chasing responses, and actioning the product transfer on the system
- Direct debit ownership and administration
- Checking, and issuing of mortgage statements annually, and upon redemption
- Confident and able to communicate with a wide range of key stakeholders including solicitors, valuers and estate agents
- Answer incoming calls on a daily basis, taking personal responsibility to answer enquiries in a positive and efficient manner
- Contribute and support the ongoing development of Society procedures and processes
**Trainee Underwriter**
Once competent to perform all administrative duties, the role will evolve to include:
- Verify documents to support the underwriting of a case and requesting outstanding information, ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Action receipt of Certificate of Title and ensure mortgage conditions are satisfied
- Review information in accordance with Society requirements, including evaluating income and reviewing valuation reports
