An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of our Clinical Coding team at Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking torecruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to step into a Trainee Clinical Coder position.

You will work as part of a team to deliver a first class service to ensure the efficient high quality provision of clinically coded data to support theTrust's clinical and business requirements.

As a Clinical Coding Officer you will be responsible for analysing and extracting complex clinical information from the medical record andtranslating this into clinical code using the ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications.

Key responsibilities will include:
Quality - Help maintain the highest accuracy standards in line with both national standards and local policies

Timeliness - Achievement of both departmental and Trust wide Key Performance Indicators to support operational and financial performancereporting

Clinical engagement - Working with clinicians to both raise the profile and champion the Clinical Coding function to drive improvement in theaccuracy of information derived from the Clinical Coding process
