Head of Corporate Governance

We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual who will ensure that effective and compliant corporate governance arrangements are in place and that the Board and its committees are supported to operate effectively and efficiently. The post will provide strategic and operational support for the delivery of all aspects of governance and regulation, working closely with Directors, staff and system partners ensuring that good governance is embedded across all areas of the organisation.

The post holder will lead and ensure comprehensive mechanisms are in place to manage and measure the corporate governance of the Trust with a view to achieving best practice and continued improvement against national standards. The post holder will also operate as an effective deputy for the Director of Corporate Affairs.

We are looking for someone with experience of working closely with a Board of Directors and Council of Governors and providing expert advice and judgement on governance matters and supporting each one to fulfil their complementary roles.

We are looking to interview week commencing 13th February 2023.

The Head of Corporate Governance is a key leadership role within the Office of the Chief Executive and the post holder also operates as the Deputy to the Director of Corporate Affairs. The post holder will work closely and provide advice to the Chair, Board and senior managers on matters of corporate governance, such as interpreting procedures and rules within the Trust’s legal and regulatory framework, and to ensure that professional, effective and efficient administrative support is provided to the Board, Board Committee’s, Council of Governors and the Trust’s group of companies.

The post holder will lead and ensure comprehensive mechanisms are in place to manage and measure the corporate governance of the Trust with a view to achieving best practice and continued improvement against national standards.

In pursuing these duties the post holder will ensure compliance with the Trust’s Constitution.
