Our client in Waltham Cross are looking to hire 2 **Section Heads** to manage the performance of warehouse departments including Picking, Loading, and Dispatch, or Conveyor Line. They are looking for individuals who will focus on service and efficiency whilst meeting financial targets and improving operations.

This is a permanent position, working 5 out of 7 days per week, either 1pm - 10pm, or 8pm - 5am. A flexible approach will be required as business dictates, including working additional nights and weekends.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage staff, including recruitment, RTW compliance, probations, training, reviews, retention, absence and overtime management, and appropriate workload plans that allow for contingencies, including use of agency staff.
- Foster a culture of open communication and engagement in order encourage input into improvements and maximise team effectiveness.
- Take positive action to optimise costs.
- Ensure operations meet targets and standards, including adherence to auditing requirements, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ensure availability, quality and safety of products, and act on complaints to improve customer service.
- Effectively allocate, manage, and maximise resources.
- Optimise, develop, and report on existing and new processes, ensuring adherence.
- Clearly communicate daily operations updates.
- Lead and monitor Team Leaders and the Operational Team. Analyse performance and guide Team Leaders to improve their departments, including setting objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Manage and complete regular progress reports on productivity and performance.
- Additional tasks as required by business.

**Key Attributes**:

- Able to communicate effectively in English (orally and written).
- Strong leadership skills, with ability to effectively motivate others and work with other departments.
- English and Maths GCSE (grade C or above).
- Experience developing managers.
- Good ability with Microsoft Office.
- A good understanding of and ability to manage warehouse processes and operations, in line with strong commercial awareness.
- Proven background in prioritising work efficiently, setting and achieving targets and working within set budgets.
- A self-starter with a hands on, pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Ability to delegate, remain in control and follow up issues as necessary.
- Good management skills, with strong organisational ability, ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines. Able to work calmly under pressure whilst still maintaining attention to detail.
