**Job Title**: Data Rights Lead

**Salary**: The starting salary is £45,073 which includes allowances totalling £2,841.

The salary is broken down as £42,232 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £50,385 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

**Location**:Hub location, either Hendon or Sidcup. We actively support blended working solutions.

**Shift Allowance**: Not at this time - But a shift allowance may be considered for this role in the future.

The Commissioner and Management Board have determined that the Met will be a data driven organisation. This means treating our data in the same way we treat our people, methods and technology, as a strategic asset.

The Data Office is the single place of accountability across the Met that:

- Owns and drives the data compliance and analytics agenda.
- Brings together the accountabilities that are currently dispersed across the Met business areas.
- Consolidates and further develops existing Met data and insight services.
- Enables data sharing and collaboration to serve the public and external partners.

**Job Purpose**

They are responsible for supervising the Data Rights Managers, their teams in support of this work and report direct to the Head of Data Rights.

**Additional Information**

A vetting level of CTC is required, all applicants must be willing to undertake Security Clearance (SC) once in post.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Understanding of the Data Protection Act, UK-General Data Protection Regulation Act and Freedom of Information Act.
- Knowledge of associated legislation and policies relevant to Information Law, including Data Ethics.
- Awareness of the Human Rights Act 1998, European Convention on Human Rights and how it relates to work in these areas.
- The ability to articulate complex information law requirements in a clear and user friendly format.
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills to resolve issues.
- Proven ability to work within a pressurised environment, be resilient and prioritise competing requirements effectively.

**Desirable Criteria**:
Any qualifications in any legislation relevant to role.
