Job overview

Responsible for the deployment, management and performance of the mission critical enterprise network service in order to achieve maximum performance and availability throughout the organisation.

You must have in-depth experience supporting and deploying cisco networking in a high availability enterprise environment.

As an IT Specialist you will ideally have experience of the following:

- Background in supporting a large network environment, with a focus on Cisco Routing and Switching.
- Expertise in LAN and WAN networking, Wireless, VOIP, user access control.
- Proven practical hands on experience of working within an IT support environment.
- Service focused with the skills to build an affinity with all levels of client stakeholders.
- Good problem-solving skills, with an ability to take a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Proactive attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and learn "on the job".
- Flexible, able to prioritise workload.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess confidence when liaising with all levels of staff including Directors, Senior Managers and with client stakeholders.
- Responsible for self-development and acquiring new skills.

You will get satisfaction from ensuring the high performance and availability of secure services and systems and contributing to the development of IT solutions throughout the Trust.

The IT Department is based at Hull Royal Infirmary and operates between 8am - 5pm weekdays.

You will be required to work as part of an On-Call Rota providing Out of Hours cover for key systems.

Providing expert technical advice and support for the data network infrastructure, focused on the end user experience including day to day troubleshooting, network maintenance, installation of hardware, troubleshooting, Wi-Fi management and ad-hoc advice and training on the use of the data network

Leads on the development of network strategy and provides comprehensive advice to inform business planning, capital developments and the development of the data network in line with business needs, technical opportunities, national policy and other external developments. Works with external agencies as required.

Contributes to the development of IT Strategy and the development and direction of the overall IT service, assists with meeting the performance management obligations of the department.

Analyse highly complex data, presents reports, develops or adapts highly complex software / web pages / information reports.

You will be working in a two-person team this will involve collaborating to ensure the smooth and effective deployment, management, and performance of the enterprise network service.

**HUTH has two main sites**: Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital with an annual budget of approximately £800 million. The Trust employs around 11,000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.25 million, delivering a number of outpatient services from locations across the area.

The Trust’s secondary care service portfolio is comprehensive, covering the major medical and surgical specialties, routine and specialist diagnostic services and other clinical support services. These services are provided primarily to a catchment population of approximately 600,000 in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire area.

HUTH provides specialist and tertiary services to a population of 1.25 million extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively.
