This new senior role will assist the CPO in setting the standards for data protection and privacy compliance across the Micro Focus Group. It will help ensure an appropriate focus on data privacy within the Group as a key risk area by providing strategic expert advice and direction on data protection, governance and accountability, working closely with key functions such as Compliance (also within the legal function), Chief Information Security Office (CISO) and Chief Data Officer (CDO).

This role is critical to the ongoing success of the Micro Focus transformation programme and must be able to run and transform together with the wider organisation in support of its strategic priorities and creating stakeholder value.

Responsibilities: _**
- Support the Chief Privacy Officer in implementing Micro Focus’ group privacy vision and strategy
- Provide strong expert advice and direction on privacy and security compliance requirements
- Help influence business stakeholders in support of privacy and data protection obligations and ensuring a "privacy by design" approach is embedded throughout the organisation, including setting-up and maintaining a Privacy Supporter Network across Micro Focus
- Provide expert guidance on data protection laws in applicable MF markets, including advising on DPIAs, security breach management and security incidents
- Support product teams to ensure data privacy by design is embedded into product innovations and new product releases
- Support corporate and professional services functions (such as HR) to ensure that data processing activities are conducted in line with privacy requirements
- Negotiate privacy terms in customer and supplier contracts and support the Legal Commercial and Global Procurement Teams on privacy matters
- Advise on applicable supplier due diligence assessments in collaboration with the Global Procurement Team
- Maintain up to date regulator notifications where applicable
- Provide advice on group level policies and standards across data management, including individual rights policies and processes and advise on local implementation
- Help develop and deliver privacy training across the business
- Work closely with Information Security, Cyber and Communications Teams, including raising awareness of data protection and to help mitigate privacy and data protection risks

**_ Education and Experience Required: _**
- Several years experience and expertise in European data protection laws and practices and an in-depth understanding of the GDPR and data protection laws globally
- Privacy training and awareness campaign development and delivery
- Qualified lawyer preferable
- Solid cybersecurity understanding
- Knowledge and experience of the Micro Focus business sectors is both useful and desirable
- Robust understanding of the interconnection between legal and business risks
- Other experience in general compliance matters would be advantageous
- Foreign languages considered a plus but are not required

- Advanced sense of accountability and responsibility

Micro Focus offers a Hybrid working model which is flexible & balanced. Hybrid working means that the majority of employees will spend 2 - 3 days per week at the office for collaborating and interacting with colleagues in person and building community. Remaining days are spent working from home.
