**Nightshift Fabrication/Welding/Paint Inspector**

Derby: Commutable from Nottingham, Belper, Burton, Ashby De La Zouch

We are recruiting for a Nightshift Fabrication/Welding/Paint Inspector, responsible for ensuring consistent quality and exceptional standards are met on all our structural steelwork projects within the workshop team. This is a key role to the business and requires an individual with a keen eye for detail, and the ability to read, understand and interpret detailed fabrication drawings.

This is a permanent role and the working hours are 16.30-3am Monday - Wednesday & 16.30 - 2am Thursday = 39hrs contract. When available overtime is paid at x 1.5. Our recently constructed state-of-the-art facility in Derby offers excellent working conditions and high-quality health & safety and quality standards.

**Key Skills, Experience & Attributes**
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Fabricator/Welder.
- Strong all-round knowledge of workshop practice.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Able to read, understand and interpret detailed fabrication drawings.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Ensure we consistent quality with our Fabrication, Welding and Painting to high standards expected at all times.
- Check Fabrication and Welding Specifications.
- Ensuring the correct equipment and materials are used.
- Inspecting partial and completed work.
- Excellent knowledge of fabrication and welding procedures.
- Demonstrating correct fabrication and welding procedures.
- Ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety rules and procedures at all times.
- Oversee the quality of our welding activities, visually inspecting, and ensuring all welds are in accordance with detail drawings.
- Responsible for paint quality checks, ensuring an acceptable visual standard plus monitoring and recording paint DFTs.
- Assist in the completion of Inspection records within a timely manner.
- Assist in the completion of weld surveillance reporting i.e. working within the parameters of held welding procedures.
- Work in conjunction with Production and Quality departments.

- Strong ability to focus with high attention to detail for accurate measuring.
- Methodical and diligent in approach to work.
- Ability to work on own initiative, with an aptitude for solving problems.
- Proactive and flexible attitude.
- Good communication skills and able to work well in a team.
- Good attendance and timekeeper.
- Be flexible to work overtime as required.
- Live within a commutable distance and have the right to work in the UK.
