Press assistant working on our 48 and 64 page presses

To assist the printer in the production of leaflets and magazines.

The assistant will work on both ends of the machine, loading and preparing reels for the flying paster and the robot / stacker for packing.

Preparing reels, reelstand

Stripping reels with a minimum of waste, preparing them with joining tape and using the automated loading system.

Recovering waste cores and segregating white and coloured waste.

Robot /stacker ,packing

Setup of both stackers and robot packing system, maintain good quality bundles /logs for packing

Boxing inline and off line

The assistant will also help in set up of the printing press where requested by the printer.

Duties

Webbing up, roller changes, cleaning, maintaining stock levels. health and safety

Fork truck and or clamp truck licences would be beneficial but training would be given.

Flexibility is required and you may be asked to work other departments.

Hours

Job is based on 36 hour week incorporating nights and days 12 hour shifts including weekends.

The factory is run on an annualised hours system.

You may be asked to work more than 36 hours or less depending on work load.

Notice of shifts will be given as far in advance as possible.
