**Receptionist**

**Hours**: Thursday 9.00 - 5.00 (8 hours)

Friday 9.00 - 5.00 (8 hours)

Initially the hours will be as above but the Thursday and Friday hours may alter if we introduce later working on Thursdays. Flexibility to cover other hours in the week is expected.

The following characteristics are considered essential to the position.

Look after our customers in a friendly and professional manner

Be able to work in an organised way without constant supervision

Able to prioritise tasks as required using your own initiative

Be confident to make appointments face to face and by telephone

Be flexible to work different hours and days if required

Be computer literate

Previous experience in a receptionist role is desirable as is experience working in a health care environment. Training will be given if required.

**Duties**:
Below is a list of the main duties for the position. There may be some we have forgotten so please expect to be flexible as this list is not exhaustive

There are currently additional cleaning duties as part of our infection control measures due to coronavirus as it is particularly important to maintain a safe environment for both our customers and staff.

Reception desk Welcome all customers in a friendly and professional manner

Make appointments either by phone or in person

Answer customer queries where possible but refer to Podiatrist if unsure

Management of booking system, involving registering new patients and

and rebooking existing ones.

Take payments from customers and keep accurate records of monies received

Deal with all messages on the answering machine promptly

Must be computer literate as we have computer booking system

Patient records Write out appointment lists for the next day

Pull out the correct patient notes for each list in the correct order

File all the patient notes once they are finished with

Ensure that all notes are handled confidentially

Annual archive of patient notes

Instruments Scrub all used instruments and inspect for debris

Clean the instruments in the ultrasonic cleaner

Sterilise all instruments in the autoclave

Ensure that instruments are sterilised promptly and returned to the treatment rooms

Make distilled water in the distiller as required (for use in the autoclave)

Admin Restock the cabinet with products for sale

Display products for sale on the reception desk

Receive deliveries, unpack them and put them away

Organise and collect printing as required

Collect and open the post as required

Management of consumables on excel spreadsheet

Other Duties Make up dressing packs

Make tea / coffee as required

Keep the kitchen area clean and tidy at all times

Empty the clinical waste bins and take the bags out to the wheelie bin

Take out and bring back the A-board to/from Market Street

Cleaning duties as required
- e.g. when the cleaner is on holiday

Shopping for cleaning products/other stock items as required

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 per week

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ashby de la Zouch: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
