**We are looking for someone who will relish the opportunity to lead a strong and well-established regional partnership, working together to commission services and improve outcomes for children, young people and families in the Yorkshire and Humber region.**

You’ll be employed by Leeds City Council where we have a culture of excellence and are continually striving to drive up standards.

You’ll sit within our Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rated Children and Families service, but you’ll work on behalf of local authorities in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

**About the Role**:
You’ll be an excellent leader and communicator, working closely with commissioners and senior children’s services leaders across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

You’ll report directly to a Commissioning Board chaired by a Director of Children’s Services, and you’ll support the board to identify new ways of working, manage risks and take effective and well-informed commissioning decisions.

You won’t have to do it all alone as you’ll be well supported by a small team of commissioners as well as procurement and administrative colleagues.

You’ll need to be able to work in a restorative manner with the partnership, providers and other stakeholders to ensure services are available to meet the region’s sufficiency needs with a clear focus on outcomes, improving quality and value for money.

This is an opportunity to lead a strong partnership that can use its collective influence to implement and pilot recommendations from the Children’s Social Care Reform and Regional Care Cooperatives to work together to improve outcomes for children, young people and families.

**You will have**:

- Minimum of 3 years relevant sector experience at a senior management level within the public sector.
- Excellent leadership, communication, partnership working and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of leading commissioning activity.
- A good understanding of the regional and national children’s placements landscape.
- A commitment to ensuring commissioning activity is influenced by the voice of children and young people.
