We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated manager to play a key role within our Community Protection Service, leading and developing a range of Strategic Regulation projects and strategic partnerships.

This is a great opportunity to develop alternative intervention strategies to tackle key community issues around crime and antisocial behaviour and encourage cross-service and matrix working.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will be responsible for setting priorities, policy, and direction to support the strategic delivery of local authority regulatory services including the development of regulatory systems and workforce planning. You will contribute to the wider service management team and engage with other service areas to achieve better outcomes for all.

With excellent communication skills and a customer focussed approach, you will work closely with key partners on the development and delivery of special multi-agency operations to disrupt criminal activity and safeguard the public.

In addition, you will support the delivery of our workforce development plan as well as implement service improvements and better ways of working to maximise resources and enhance the customer experience.

With a broad understanding of Community Protection services, you will lead, develop, and ensure the successful delivery of all regulatory support services and systems.

We are looking for a strategic thinker with a track record of partnership working in the delivery of better regulatory outcomes.
You will need:

- Knowledge of Local Government statutory requirements and relevant legislation

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply.
