Head Of Leicester Riders Foundation

We are seeking a Head of Foundation to enact our recently developed strategy and lead Leicester Riders Foundation. We are looking for a high-calibre individual, capable of delivering high impact projects in Leicester.

Leicester Riders Foundation is the official charity linked to The Leicester Riders Basketball Club. Established in 1967, the club have been based in various locations before moving to the purpose-built Mattioli Arena in 2016. Based upon the above core values _(RIDERS)_, Leicester Riders Foundation uses the power of basketball to motivate, engage and inspire local people and communities across Leicester and Leicestershire.

Job Outline

**Role Title**: Head of Foundation, Leicester Riders Foundation

**Reports to**: Chair of the Board of Trustees

**Location**: Principally located at Mattioli Arena, LE1 3UL

**Working Hours**: 37.5 hours per week (as a senior position; game days and occasional

additional or unsocial hours are a requisite of the role)

**Salary**: Competitive Salary, dependent on experience

**Key Relationships**: Chair of the Board of Trustees, Board of Trustees, Foundation, Senior Management Team, Leicester Riders Chairman and Senior Executives, Basketball England, and stakeholders across strategic areas of work.

Job Purpose

As Head of Foundation, you will:

- Provide inspirational senior leadership for the charity, developing and delivering an ambitious strategic plan that increases both the Foundation and Club’s brand, impact, and reputation.
- Serve the best interests of the foundation as an innovative leader with strategic responsibility for the financial and business growth of Leicester Riders Foundation.
- Manage and develop the foundation programmes and future initiatives.
- Work in partnership with Leicester Riders and the Mattioli arena, supporting the development of arena-based programmes and assist with diversifying the fan base.
- Establish and embed monitoring and evaluation frameworks for all Foundations projects, ensuring we effectively measure impact - and report to funding bodies - along with, safeguarding and EDI ingrained throughout.

Job Duties

As Head of Foundation, your duties will include:

- Representing and promoting the Leicester Riders Foundation externally, maximising collaboration with the local area.
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders at the Club.
- Managing and developing a dynamic and cohesive delivery team that buy in to the charity’s core values.
- Developing and managing foundation employees. This will include detailing roles and responsibilities, mentoring team members, contributing to staff recruitment, and monitoring performance.
- Maximising funding opportunities and using funding to successfully benefit the communities we serve.
- Overseeing the budget across all programmes and ensure longer term strategic financial planning is robust.
- Ensuring regular reports and information are presented to the Board of Trustees in a clear and effective manner.
- Ensuring that the charity’s health and safety, equal opportunities, child protection and safeguarding policies represent best practice and are adhered to in all aspects of the charity activities.

Person Specification

**Experience**

Minimum 3 years’ experience of working in a sports, charity, or community development environment.

Demonstrable history of success and achievement in a leadership role within a charity or community organisation.

Experience of business and strategic planning within the not-for-profit sector.

Experience creating partnerships and strong working relationships with partners and stakeholders.

Experience in securing external funding to support the longevi
