Here at Bristol Water, we have a great opportunity to join our Network Team as a Network Strategic Operations Inspector

**What will you be doing?**

As a Network Strategic Operations Inspector, you will be part of a team that inspect and operate the Trunk Mains network in accordance with company policy and direction, ensuring at all times legislative compliance; quality and safety standards are adhered to.

Carry out valving operations for emergency and planned work and assist in the deployment of emergency water supply equipment, both internally and external to the company area.

The job holder will be required to partake in a reactive 24/7 Standby Rota and may be required to work planned night shifts upon request.

**Day to day you’ll be**
- Carry out the operations required to isolate and recharge trunk mains systems in the event of an operational failure or in accordance with a predetermined programme.
- Carry out all required actions for the planned or unplanned drain down of covered potable water reservoirs, tanks and towers. Assist with inspections and cleaning as required. Ensure structure is refilled and sampled for return to service in accordance with company procedures.
- Carry out the regular routine inspection of the Strategic Operations network:

- Ensuring that fittings are not leaking and are operating effectively and securely.
- Checking for leaks along the line of the main.
- Ensuring easements around the mains have been maintained and report any encroachments.
- Be part of an on-call rota which includes standby duty out of hours and weekends.
- Undertake the regular inspections, sterilisations and routine sampling on the emergency equipment fleet and ensure that it is all maintained in a serviceable condition ready to deploy in emergency and planned situations. Maintain the record files for inspection and quality audits.
- Deploy and operate Continuous Water Supply (CWS) or Alternative Water Supply (AWS) equipment as required for planned and reactive works, to give our customers water when there is a network interruption.

**What we’re looking for...**
- Experienced in working within a fast-paced and reactive environment.
- Experience of working in a customer facing environment
- Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Ability to keep accurate records and produce concise reports
- Computer Literate
- Full Driving Licence

**Ideally, you’ll also have but not essential**
- Understanding of water supply networks
- LGV C+E License
