**About this job**:
Weare looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and adaptable individual to join ourCorporate Parenting and Permanence team as a Leaving Care Advisor. Thepost holder will need to have a passion for young people and strive to give ourcare leavers maximum support and opportunities in their transition intoadulthood. This involves ensuring young people have employment, educationand training opportunities, suitable accommodation and the necessary lifeskills. You will manage a caseload of young people aged 18 and above,including Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers, ensuring a multi-agency approach tosupporting vulnerable young people in line with relevant legislation. Please note this is a fixed term contract until March 2025.

**Special requirements for this post**:
A comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on successful applicants. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and carries a requirement to have an Enhanced DBS check for both children’s and adults.

**About you**:
You will have direct experience of working with young people on a wide range of issues and have a compassionate understanding of their needs where they have experienced trauma; loss or separation. You will see yourself as a “champion”for care leavers always advocating the best for them and helping them achievetheir full potential. A knowledge of the legislative framework relating to childrenand young people, particularly the Children Act 1989 and The Leaving Care Act 2000 is essential to this role. In addition to this, you will have the abilityto adapt readily to change and work effectively in a variety of situations, groups or with individuals as well as a commitment to work as part of a team.
