Job description

The Leaving Care Team are looking to recruit full time, motivated, skilled, flexible, creative and innovative Leaving Care Workers to join our team.

In the Leaving Care Team an opportunity has arisen for Leaving Care Workers to work with young people age 16 to 25 years old. As part of children’s services all care leavers are offered the opportunity to gain skills needed to enable effective transition into adulthood.

Leaving Care Workers will engage with young people within semi-independence provisions, residential provisions, young people placed at home and work closely with Horizons education centre, LAC teachers, LAC nurses and LAC psychologists to ensure that young people are provided with positive outcomes.

If you wish to join a committed, focused and diverse team and have knowledge and understanding of the emotional wellbeing of care leavers as well as the skill to work with young people developing independent skills, this role will be ideal for you.

Ealing is committed to new ways of working and supporting staff to embed our Practice Model. The Brighter Futures Practice Model is values driven and has at its heart a commitment to improving the lives and outcomes for children and young people in need through building empathic, respectful, and trusting relationships with children, young people, their families, or carers (and with each other as colleagues) to achieve improved and sustainable outcomes that support long term change.

Ealing is the third largest London Borough. The Leaving Care Team has a good reputation for positive outcomes in all of the areas. Currently a high number of young people have successfully obtained their degrees/masters. Ealing also encourages and supports young people throughout their education and onto apprenticeships and training schemes.

The successful applicant will be expected to hold between 25-26 cases, which will involve travel around the country.
