**About us**

Tenby Museum & Art Gallery is the oldest independent museum in Wales. Established in 1878 its collections and displays preserve and promote the history of the town, giving a sense of place and heritage to both local people and visitors. Run by a small enthusiastic team of paid staff and volunteers, we provide a welcome and friendly environment to work in.

We are looking for a Saturday Visitor Services Assistant to join our Front of House Team. Extra hours on Sundays may be available to cover staff absence.

This is a part time seasonal position (April - September).

Hours will be 10am - 5pm Saturdays.

Welsh Language skills are desirable but not essential.

**JOB PURPOSE**

To cover the admissions desk and shop, welcome visitors and ensure the security of the Museum galleries

**Principal Responsibilities**:

- Act as a keyholder to open and lock down the Museum on Saturdays.
- Provide excellent customer service by welcoming visitors to the Museum, processing admissions, providing information on the galleries and dealing with enquiries.
- Help to maintain the Museum shop and entrance, restock where necessary, keep shop and foyer area clean.
- Serve shop customers and sell products.
- Ensure the health and safety of visitors in the shop and galleries and monitor the security of the collections on display.

**Skills and Expertise**:

- Friendly, outgoing and confident dealing with the public
- Has experience working in a customer facing role
- Some experience working for a heritage attraction would be desirable
- An interest in local history, archaeology and/or fine art

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 7 per week

**Salary**: £10.42 per hour

Schedule:

- Weekends only
