**Reports to: Events & Community Fundraising Manager/Head of Fundraising**

**Direct reports: None**

**Location: Office based in Buckingham**

**Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week**

**Salary: £25,000 p/a**

**About the charity**:
Retina UK occupies a unique position in the fight against inherited sight loss. We specialise in funding cutting edge research into inherited retinal conditions and offer dedicated support and information to the thousands of people living with these conditions.

Inherited sight loss is caused by a range of genetic conditions and affects tens of thousands of people in the UK alone. Diagnosis can be made at any age, often in children and young people. It is the most common cause of sight loss in people of working age.

To date we have invested more than £16.5 million into ground breaking research. We are proud to support some of the best scientists and clinicians in the fields of ophthalmology and genetics. **Main responsibilities**:

- Assist with stewardship of all charity members, regular givers and support with improvement of supporter retention and engagement.
- Utilise the charity database appropriately, carry out regular analysis and ensure all Fundraising records are accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate seasonal raffles, mail-outs, prize draws and conduct research into successfully boosting merchandise sales, i.e. Christmas cards.
- Support with Gift Aid cleansing, ensuring the information is captured and stored accurately.
- Liaise with venues, supporters, exhibitors and attendees ahead of fundraising events and community fundraising activities.
- Assist with Fundraising content including website updates and social media through regular liaisons with the Communications department. This may also include identifying relevant content for use as news stories, supporting with marketing campaigns and press releases, imagery sourcing and upkeep of the donation page of the charity website as and when required.
- Ensure a highly efficient thanking process is in p lace and regularly update good quality letter templates to effectively communicate the value of donor contributions.
- Act as the first port of call for supporters by transferring calls and taking messages and also provide materials, information and support when required.
- Coordinate the Fundraising team meetings, assist with drawing up agendas and take minutes when required.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Events & Community Fundraising Manager, Head of Fundraising, senior management or CEO.
