**Quality Inspector**
- £12.71 per hour across all shifts. Overtime paid at £19.07 (weekdays after 40hours and any Saturday hours) & £25.42 hourly rate (Sunday hours)
- Working Days, Nights, After's shifts.. 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am

Bawtry Carbon Limited manufactures a wide range of carbon-based products. We are one of the leading suppliers of carbon cathodes and ramming pastes to Aluminium smelters around the world.

You will be part of a team that successfully delivers products that enhance our customer processes by ensuring products are safe, reliable, consistent and meet customer expectations. If you have good attention to detail, eagerness for improvements, and a desire help build and support a strong “quality wall” between Bawtry Carbon and its customers, then we would like to talk to you.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work as part of a shift team of three Quality Inspectors covering holidays and sickness with some overtime required (Monday to Friday 6:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00, 22:00-6:00). Reporting to our Continuous Improvement Manager.
- Conduct Quality Control tests for shaped and unshaped carbon products.
- Organising and conducting raw material sampling and testing to defined specifications and schedules.
- Inspecting finished goods for dimensional and physical attributes in line with agreed customer specifications and schedules.
- Follow physical testing procedures, operate equipment and electronically record test results. Highlighting any non-conformances.
- To ensure that any data records and reports required by the quality management system (ISO 9001:2015) are accurately recorded and maintained to allow products to be approved for dispatch on time. Participating in audits when required.
- Work to existing H&S and Quality documentation i.e. procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work and participate in the creation of improved and new documentation. Equipment maintenance and calibration activities.
- Help support laboratory improvements (HS&E, housekeeping, workflow, 5S, new equipment, Gauge R&R) and maintain best practices.
- Must be willing to adapt and develop working practices as required to improve your skills and abilities through training.

Must adhere to all company’s policies including Quality, Health, Safety & Environment at all times

**Requirement**:
Previous work experience as a Quality Inspector or experience in a production environment would be an advantage.

Knowledge of how to use inspection tools and measurement equipment is desirable.

Knowledge of carbon materials, refractories or similar materials is desirable.

Basic maths and computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Excel.
