**Job description**:
**Corporate Centre**

The Corporate Centre Group provides a wide range of corporate services to enable people at HM Treasury and many of the other organisations who form part of the Treasury Group (including the Government Internal Audit Agency, the Debt Management Office and the new National Infrastructure Bank) to operate effectively and efficiently. We are a diverse group, both in terms of our professions and in our ways of working.

The Corporate Centre Group is made up of: Correspondence and Information Rights; Group Finance; People and Capability; Treasury Business Solutions and the Multisite Darlington Economic Campus Programme.

**HM Treasury Group Finance**

The Group Finance team, within the Corporate Centre Group, comprises approximately 55 staff based in London, Norwich and Darlington. We provide sound financial management advice and information for internal use, and accurate information for Parliamentary control and public accountability purposes. We also lead on the department’s response to counter fraud, risk and assurance.

**HM Treasury Counter Fraud, Risk and Assurance team**

Fraud costs the government an estimated £31 to £53 billion every year, taking money away from vital public services that citizens rely on and damages trust in government. We drive departmental compliance with risk and counter fraud standards by providing high quality advice, training, and assurance. We work closely with HMT policy and spending teams, auditors, our Arm’s Length Bodies (ALBs) and the Public Sector Fraud Authority. **Key Accountabilities**

Can you help us drive counter fraud prevention and awareness? Join HM Treasury to help us build our counter fraud function and embed best practice

As a Counter Fraud Officer at HM Treasury, you will use a business partnering approach to establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders and promote a counter fraud culture. You will use your counter fraud expertise to advise on the early assessment of fraud risks including through Initial Fraud Impact Assessments.

Ideally you will have experience of advising on Counter Fraud best practice and/or policy, working across functional and organisational boundaries. We are looking for someone with strong written and verbal communications skills who is highly motivated to inspire change.
