**Key Purpose**:
We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to work within our Finance Team in Theale, Reading.

This is an opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in Accounts Payable and looking to expand their finance knowledge into other areas of finance.

The successful person will spend c50% of their time on Accounts Payable, and c50% of their time on general ledger activities, so must have experience in this area. Training will be provided in relation to the general ledger activities.

This role reports into the Head of Finance, and will be an integral part of the busy finance team.

**Responsibilities**:
**Accounts Payable duties -**

Processing supplier invoices

Reconciling supplier statements

Allocating payments

Dealing with supplier queries

Pro-actively managing the creditors ledger

Providing ad-hoc support / reporting to the Accounts Payable team

**General Ledger duties-**

Ownership of monthly payroll

Ownership of quarterly VAT returns

Ownership of month end management accounts:

- Accruals and Prepayments
- Fixed Assets
- Revenue recognition
- Variance Analysis and commentary
- Debtors and creditors

Supporting the annual audit process

Supporting the annual budgeting process

Providing ad-hoc support / reporting to the Group Head of Finance

**Experience/Qualifications**

Previous experience of working within an accounts team and strong understanding of AP

Experience of Payroll, VAT and Budgeting is desirable but training can be provided

AAT Qualification is desirable

Advance excel skills (Lookups/Pivots/data analysis)

Sage 200 experience
