Animal Carer Job

Our rescue is looking for a new animal carer to join the team to help care for the cats and rabbits on site. If you are looking to work in a well established rescue, helping to improve the lives of animals in need in the Manchester area, then this could be the perfect job for you.

Job Role:
We are looking for someone to take charge of the health, happiness, welfare and wellbeing of the animals on site - which will initially be cats and rabbits. This is a hands on role where the work can be varied, fast paced and at times demanding. There will be countless opportunities to experience new challenges and learn new skills.

What we need:

- Previous animal care experience, particularly with cats and/or rabbits
- A clean, full manual driving license (ideally with access to own vehicle)
- Animal qualifications are preferred
- Someone who is compassionate, hard working and dedicated to the values of the rescue
- A person who is flexible, adaptable and works well under pressure - able to make decisions and use their initiative to problem solve when necessary
- The ability to work independently and as part of the larger team of trustees, staff and volunteers
- Good communication skills and basic IT skills
- Experience of working with volunteers and acting a source of support, encouragement and training
- A decent level of physical fitness
- A flexible approach to working hours/shift patterns
- An understanding or experience of working in a non-profit environment
- A commitment to helping us continual improve welfare understanding and standards across the charity

This job will be based at our rescue site in Stretford, Manchester. The starting salary will be minimum wage. Working 4 days that will be will be flexible over 7 days.

**Salary**: From £11.00 per hour
