**Position Overview**: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Department Supervisor to oversee our catering operations, with a primary focus on order picking and team management. The Catering Department Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and efficient picking and preparation of crockery, cutlery and Glassware, as well as leading and motivating a team of warehouse staff.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the catering department, including order picking, packing, and dispatch of catering equipment and furniture for hire.
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure productivity targets are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Oversee the selection and preparation of orders, ensuring accuracy in item selection, packaging, and labelling to meet customer requirements.
- Manage inventory levels and stock rotation, liaising with the procurement team to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained to meet customer demand.
- Work closely with the sales and operations teams to prioritize orders, coordinate delivery schedules, and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse environment, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints related to orders, deliveries, and product quality, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues to the satisfaction of the customer.
- Monitor and report on departmental performance metrics, such as order accuracy, productivity, and inventory accuracy, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Assist with the recruitment and training of new warehouse staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall customer experience.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a warehouse or catering environment is essential.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve goals and deliver exceptional service.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order processing and inventory management.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise with internal teams and external customers.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures within a warehouse setting.
- Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required by business needs.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
