Licensing Officer

Job Introduction
We are currently looking to recruit a dynamic, hardworking and knowledgeable individual to work within our Licensing Team. You will work within our busy Licensing Team which forms part of the Business Compliance and Public Safety Unit which sits within the Public Protection Service.
The position is based at West Hartford Community Fire Station, agile working is strongly encouraged but attendance at offices will be required on a regular basis.
This key role will provide advice and guidance to applicants, solicitors and members of the public on a broad range of licensing matters. This involves regular direct contact with members of the public, and therefore requires a high degree of effective communication skills. Due to statutory timeframes involved in this work you will need to be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work independently.

**Role requirements**
- A good knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures associated with the delivery of local authority licensing functions.
- Valid UK driving licence
- Experience in engaging effectively with other professionals and building productive partnerships
- Experience of undertaking research, interpreting legislation, guidance and/or policy to inform actions and decision making.
