**Purpose of the role**:
Part of a team of Finance Business Partners who are responsible for managing the bank’s performance reporting, planning including budgeting and forecasting and financial strategic projects:

- Helping to support a best-in-class reporting function with strong business partnering capability
- Deliver regular reporting and analysis
- Support the business to help drive the strategic direction of the bank
- Take the lead on finance support for adhoc projects as required, including new regulatory requirements
- Assist in production of key bank reports such as Management Accounts, Budget, Five Year plans, Stress Testing and Asset and Liability Management reporting
- Supporting internal and external projects as required
- To be a value-add business partner to the bank
- Constructive challenge across finance and the wider business to understand and improve performance

**Requirements**:
**What you will bring to the role**:

- A commercial mindset with the ability to understand a variety of considerations when recommending and/or challenging information
- A balanced approach to decision making including financial, customer, colleague and alignment to the values and principles of the bank
- A curious mindset that extends beyond the bank to understand changes and trends in both the external market, relevant competitors/banks and wider industries
- Adaptive to changes in regulation to understand both threats and opportunities
- Excellent problem-solving skills to be able to come up with solutions to potentially complex problems succinctly
- Diligent to ensure numbers are accurate and represented clearly with key messages called out
- An effective communicator and team player who can work successfully across the bank where there is a varying degree of financial knowledge
- A self-starter with the ability to work on projects and ad hoc tasks

**Necessary experience or qualifications**:
Relevant qualifications are preferred but not essential, with a proven track record with regards to:

- Partnering the business by using relevant expertise to improve the performance of the bank
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of drivers of profitability and financial management within a highly regulated industry
- Qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA (essential)
- Experience in understanding data and being able to distill and present the messages to a non-Finance audience
- Strong IT skills including building of financial models and a drive to constantly improve files and processes
- Ability to build and present high quality presentations

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Assist with monthly production and ownership of management accounts prepared to management team and Board. Continually improving the output and ensuring key messages are understood.
- Income, cost, balance sheet and key metric reporting and forecasting
- Assist with production of budgets, five-year plans and rolling forecasts
- Support papers for monthly Asset and Liability Committee
- Challenge the numbers and performance of the wider bank, to ensure transparency and accuracy in reporting
- Improving capability for key income, balance sheet and pricing models
- Ad hoc analysis to support various functions within bank
- Provide cover for the wider team and therefore pick up new tasks quickly and efficiently
- To be an expert and approachable with a variety of queries from across the bank
- To understand the Bank’s systems and information flows to ensure accuracy and highlight areas for improvement
