Following a period of incredible growth my client, a supplier of consumables to the retail industry, now has an excellent opportunity for a Transport Planner to join their team.

**Job Purpose**:
To support the Central Planning Manager (CPM) by delivering Logistics & Service excellence. To ensure that we are operating efficiently & effectively whilst controlling costs in line with budgets & expectations. Collaborating with all departments to ensure we maximise customer profitability and service levels through KPI, cost management and lean processes. To assist in the development of a sustainable Transport strategy for the future.
**Duties**:
- Assist in the smooth running of day-to-day Central Planning Logistics service.
- Provide support and cover to Logistics Team as and when required.
- Own and maintain Master files in operating systems.
- Assist in creating an environment of continuous improvement & learning.
- Ownership and understanding of all Logistics aspects for each customer.
- Supply cover and support for Planning Team to ensure clear progression program is in place.
- Assist in delivering the logistics communication plan participating in team/Volume forecast meetings.
- Drive Planning team performance.
- Reduce third Party Carriage to absolute minimum by identifying opportunities on own fleet.
- Identify overspill, failed to load and failed deliveries, generating a data base to track and Reduce.
- Ensure all data in BDM or replacement system is accurate and up to date at all times.
- Complete backhaul scheduling, modelling, Pricing & Prepare backhaul invoicing.
- Prepare and consign orders in Red Prairie or equivalent system once processed by Orders team.
- Generating Bookings as required.
- Provide System support.
- Ensure planning system is up to date with all relevant data and deliver accurate plans as and when required including modelling.
Experience Required:
- National CPC. Or working towards gaining the qualification.
- Experience of working to tight deadlines and managing a high volume of activity.
- Experience in developing and implementing, cost effective plan modelling & re-modelling.
- Excellent IT skills, good verbal and written presentation skills, confidence in dealing with senior management and customers.
- High degree of flexibility - last minute changes to working hours, days or location as required to meet the expectations & commitments of the role.
- Demonstrate good Leadership skills, decision-making, strong communication, change management, and people skills such as empathy, patience, and politeness.

**Salary**: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
