Clinical The post holder will ensure clinical practice is supported by digital technology. Maintain competencies relating to digital leadership by attending regular updates such as local user group initiatives and the national Digital Midwives Expert Reference Group.

Provide professional leadership including motivation of staff regarding the use of digital technology. Ensure the relevant data is captured and maintained as a collaborative approach with the wider Multidisciplinary team to meet both National and local standards. Professional To act in a safe and professional manner at all times in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Midwives Rules and Code of Professional Conduct. Ensure that all clinical care personally provided is of a high standard and reflects current evidence.

To provide professional and clinical midwifery leadership, acting as a role model for professional practice. To maintain eligibility to practice via professional development and maintenance of professional portfolio in accordance with CPD. Maternity Information Work towards the ambitions of Better Births to evaluate the maternity IT system and its abilities to meet the recommendations. Utilise a variety of information technology systems and databases to assist with data collation and audit processes.

Provide professional leadership including motivation of staff regarding the use of digital technology. Review, monitor and develop processes and systems to support accurate and reliable data quality for internal and external assurance, local commissioning and local, regional and national datasets. Coordinate and liaise with other departments to ensure the timely delivery and quality and reliability of maternity data. Ensure the relevant data is captured and maintained as a collaborative approach with the wider Multidisciplinary team to meet both National and local standards.

Ensure and maintain confidentiality and integrity of all confidential information. Maintain competencies relating to digital leadership by attending regular updates such as local user group initiatives and the national Digital Midwives Expert Reference Group. Produce results and findings in a variety of formats, including reports, papers, spreadsheets and presentations. Present results and findings to various teams, committees, forums and relevant groups.

Utilise and interpret data to compose clinical and management audits and reports. Make recommendations for change and action plans in response to data and audit results. Report and escalate any issues or challenges that arise, which are outside of your scope of practice or remit. Support the submission of data for MSDSv2 Management Review and evaluate information systems to assess for both clinical and technological fitness for purpose.

As a member of the Senior Midwifery Management Team, you will be expected to partake in strategic and operational commitments, including on-call provision and a member of the senior midwifery team. Chair the Maternity and IT Strategy Meeting. Communication and Relationship Develop and maintain communication with people on complex matters, issues and ideas and/or in complex situations. Communication is a fundamental process to ensure continuity and high standards of service.

It includes sharing ideas, information and feedback in order to empower staff and members of the interdisciplinary team. Skilled in communicating with a range of people on a daily basis some of who may have communication barriers. To be responsible for disseminating important messages, memos, updates and information as required to the staff. Provides feedback to other workers on their communication at appropriate times.

Ensuring that open, respectful communication is the benchmark of all communication. Develop processes which clearly articulate how departmental operation and strategic objectives are monitored and reported with areas of responsibility. Responsibility for Analysis and Judgment Gather, analyse and report a range of data and information. Demonstrates an understanding of research and development and how this influences midwifery practice.

Input patient data in the correct form and manner whether this be primary or secondary information onto the supporting computer system. Analyse and report information provided through appropriate clinical equipment and act upon this gathered information. Maintain the integrity of information using agreed methods and procedures. Reports the data/ information clearly in the required format and at the time agreed.
