Our American multinational law firm client has an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to join their London office on a full-time permanent basis. Working as part of a friendly and supportive HR team, the purpose of this role is to be responsible for coordinatinga wide range of generalist human resources activities in relation to the employee life cycle, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, learning and development, compensation and benefits, reward and recognition and HRIS.

Key duties:
General HR
- Serves as first point of contact for the London office in relation to all HR related questions in areas including, but not limited to:

- Recruitment
- Onboarding and integration
- Absence management
- Employee relations issues
- Training and development
- Is knowledgeable about UK employment laws and London HR policies
- Seeks to recommend improvements to HR systems and processes to increase efficiency 2
- May be required to support the HR Manager (Graduate Recruitment & Development)

Recruitment and Onboarding
- Assists the London office to implement a non-discriminatory recruitment and selection program for all non-legal and paralegal positions in the areas of recruitment, advertising, postings, screenings, interviewing and onboarding
- Ensures that all appropriate information is secured before the recruitment begins including drafting approval to recruit requests and obtaining the requisite internal approvals
- Liaises with partners/line managers to create job descriptions for each vacancy
- Establishes good working relationships with agreed key agencies and ensure SLAs are in place and reviewed/renewed as appropriate.

Employee Relations

Absence and Attendance Management
- Oversees the HR Administrator and HR Assistant (assuming responsibility in the event of absences) to ensure all absences (sickness, holiday, compassionate leave etc.) are recorded on a daily basis
- Ensures all supporting medical notes, appointment confirmation letters etc are obtained in a timely manner and follows up with the individual regarding their absence/appointments

Maternity/Paternity/Parental Leave
- Tracks all maternity, paternity, parental, dependency leave requests and prepares the necessary letters and HR administration related to such leaves of absence
- Ensures the Firm's maternity policy is outlined to expectant mothers, arranges maternity work station assessments and ensures contact is maintained with individuals throughout their maternity leave

Disciplinary/Capability/Grievance
- Ensures consistent performance throughout the administrative staff by working with Line Managers to actively manage any performance issues initially through counselling and where necessary escalating the issue to the Senior HR Manager
- Note taking at disciplinary/capability/grievance hearings

Role changes/Leavers
- Prepares contract amendment letters (eg. changes to hours/department/salary)
- Acknowledges receipt of resignation letters and conducts exit interviews for all outgoing employee and ensures exit questionnaire and relevant information is communicated to the HR Manager and Firm HR
