An ongoing huge transformation programme in Essex has opened up a number of exciting opportunities for psychological services professionals who have an interest in the treatment and management of Complex Trauma that might meet criteria for Personality Disorder. The integrated care pathway supports the aspirations identified in the NHS Long Term Plan and Community Mental Health Framework.

These opportunities challenged traditional models of mental health provision to prevent escalation of mental health crises and develop true community-based, integrated and systemic services.Please note that lived/living experience of having Complex Trauma that might meet criteria for Personality Disorder is an essential criteria for the post.

There is significant demand for Personality Disorder Awareness Training across EPUT and partner organisations. With the demand ever growing and the anticipated higher frequency/increased variety of training in 2023, we identify the need for a dedicated coordinator and facilitator, with lived/living experience, to join the Service User Network team. As an integral and highly valued member of the Service User Network multi-disciplinary team, an Expert by Experience Training Facilitator and Coordinator will provide support to the Personality Disorders and Complex Needs (PD&CN) multi-disciplinary team in the coordination and delivery of bespoke Personality Disorder Training.

What is Staff Bank?

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

**The post-holder will**:

- Use their lived/living experience of Personality Disorder, and through collaboration with teams, to inform the identification of training needs, and development of training packages that align with these needs.
- Assist the coordination of training delivery, and the volunteer training facilitators with lived/living experience, in partnership with the Service User Network (SUN).
- As a co-facilitator, support the delivery of NHSE/I commissioned Knowledge and Understanding Framework (KUF) Training as an Expert By Experience, and the delivery of the bespoke Personality Disorder Awareness Training.
- Respond in ways which are sensitive to both service users’ and trainees’ needs, thus promoting training environments that are empathic and containing
- Develop an online platform for professionals to access to enhance their knowledge and resources
- Advertise and network with EPUT and other voluntary, care and social enterprises in Essex to ensure the opportunity for training reaches far and wide
- Assist in the development of a training package for Service Development Collaborative members
- Assist in the development and coordination of training for Volunteers and Peer Support Workers
- Provide support to the PD&CN multi-disciplinary team in evaluating training, producing quarterly reports on training delivery, attendance and feedback
- Champion a lived experience workforce and act as an ambassador for co-production and expert involvement

**You will be able to demonstrate**:

- Personal lived experience of managing or living with a complex mental health condition and/or Personality Disorder
- Skills and experience in developing and delivering training
- Ability to learn new skills
