**Summary and Key responsibilities**:
The Material Controller (MC) sits in the demand and supply team reporting into the procurement business-facing organization within the bp pulse ops team. The team is responsible for working with business stakeholders to compile a demand/supply plan and manage inventory for materials and services. The Team members work with procurement & category teams, suppliers, control teams, freight forwarding, warehousing and quality management teams to ensure the support provided to the business is timely and accurate.

The MC supports both daily operational execution and development of material planning processes to ensure that materials are in the right location at the correct time to support business need. The MC will be required to work cross functionally and with suppliers to develop material and inventory management & planning processes/systems in compliance with OMS, and Materials Planning and Coordination Procedures.

The MC also supports the SCM lead to ensure that material control is thoroughly integrated with the other Procurement and Logistics activities and will participate in the development and delivery of Region-Specific Guidelines for the Materials Planning and Coordination function.

**Region Specific Scope**:
If the scale of operations within a given region does not warrant separate warehousing or inventory management dedicated roles; the SCM lead may assign the MC responsibility for additional materials management activities such as materials manifesting, materials receiving, materials issue or stocking accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Accountable for Material management (execution against inventory policy, inventory planning and movements, material manifesting, receipts/issues/accuracy etc) and connected availability of materials for EV Charger, Projects, Operations & Maintenance.
Drive inventory accuracy and ‘right first time’ co-ordination of materials using industry best practice processes and systems
ensure efficient timing of delivery of materials and services and storing of materials meet the business plans and requirements
Work with the D& S team to translate business plans into an actionable material plans that can be shared with the wider Supply Chain, Procurement/Category manager and Controls teams
Provide input to the finished goods forecast and budget process communicating material constraint or opportunity to the commercial/business facing organisation to aid planning
Work with the Demand and Supply Analyst to Design and build ad hoc/custom inventory reports as per business need using excel, power BI or similar. Be able to create user friendly interfaces and visual representations of material status/location etc
Work with the SCM lead to create and maintain KPI reporting and dashboards (eg.Inventory value/volume, fulfilment etc) that track and communicate the progress of timely delivery of materials and services.
As the business evolves, support the transition from excel based data crunching to use of more automated planning/inventory software and reporting tools. Support the SCM lead in implementation of planning software or tools.
Actively participate in the Demand & Supply Team
Work with the SCM Lead to ensure global strategies meet local requirements and that local implementations are consistent with global strategies
Work seamlessly and collaboratively with the broader Procurement organization, actively manage the defined interfaces within the Procurement organization and maintain the understanding of defined role accountabilities and responsibilities.
Provide input to respective Category Management and Procurement Teams for effective materials management.
Ensure materials/inventory profile is communicated properly through the organization to ensure right materials are added to stock to ensure business continuity
Communicate with stakeholders / technical functions, and category teams to ensure HSE and quality aspects of materials and services, timing of delivery of materials and services and storing of materials meet the business plans and requirements
Support ongoing continuous improvement and optimization activities.

Skills/Experience

5+ years of materials management hands-on experience with an emphasis in the Oil and Gas/Energy Capital Projects Industry/EV Charging (Alternatively, four (4) year degree in Supply Chain Management, Applied Mathematics, or Business; and two (2+) years of hands-on experience)
MM related process and systems knowledge and/or hands-on experience working with SAP, Maximo and Business Objects or similar reporting tools
